What a calcium score costs in Florida

A coronary artery calcium scan — CPT 75571 — is a non-contrast CT of the chest, scored for calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. No dye, no fasting, no recovery: a few minutes on the table and out of the building inside half an hour.

Insurers generally do not cover it as a screening test, which is exactly why a cash price exists at all. Hospitals and imaging centres publish a flat self-pay rate, usually between $99 and $250, that is often far below what the same scan would be billed at through insurance. Ask for the self-pay price by CPT code, and do not let a scheduler quote you a cardiac CT angiogram instead — that is a different, contrast-based test that costs several times more.
